Digital Jump Rope

While it’s true you don’t need a whole lot of equipment to reap all the benefits of a good jump rope workout, there are some perks that can be had with digital jump ropes. These nifty, and still relatively inexpensive devices, can add a level of fun and challenge to the workout.

Digital jump ropes do all sorts of things other jump ropes don’t. In the process, they can really push you to keep on going, and give you a drive to do better and better as you progress in your jump rope abilities. A really good digital rope can even double as a personal trainer of sorts!

Let’s look at some of the features a digital jump rope might offer:

  • Jump counter. Most of them will very likely include this feature. It can help you keep count of how many times you’ve jumped and give you a target to shoot for. In counting the jumps, the rope gives you a great way to keep track of your improvement as you develop better levels of fitness.
  • Caloric count. Some will give you a read out of the estimated calories you’ve burned during your workout. This is great for those who are using jump ropes as a way to lose weight.
  • Workout pace. Some digital jump ropes will provide their users with a timer to help them set the pace for their workout. The timer’s alarm will sound with a certain amount of time has passed. If you’re just starting out, for example, you can slowly increase the timer to expand your workout as you get better and better. This is great for keeping the workout fun and challenging.

Although they have not been perfected enough yet, digital jump ropes offer all kinds of perks their low-tech counterparts do not. But, remember, the most important thing is to just get up and do it! Whether you use a digital jump rope or just a regular one, the benefits can’t be reaped if you don’t get up and jump.
