The Importance of Maintaining the Right Weight
More or less than a hundred years ago, most people used to be much more active, they used to walk more for transportation or ride horses and camels and they used to do much more labor in such fields such as farming etc. Now a days and due to industrial and technological advances which resulted in advanced machinery and robots which reduced the need for labor work, the human-beings are less active. they have less needs and incentive to be active and that results in obesity
Maintaining the right weight is very important for a person's health. Being overweight not only feels like a burden, it creates health risks. A person can maintain a healthy weight by eating well-balanced meals, drinking plenty of water, and exercising regularly. Most people that need to maintain a healthy weight do not recognize that they need to lose weight, and those that do not need to lose weight want to get thinner, usually for cosmetic reasons.
Carrying around extra weight has been linked to many physical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and other ailments. Being overweight has also been linked mental health, such as depression. The more overweight a person is the more severe the health problems will be. Experts have proven that the more overweight a person is their chances for suffering major health problems increases. Once a person starts to reduce their weight, their risk factors are also reduced.
Losing weight is particularly important based on your family's health history such as chronic diseases like heart disease or diabetes. It is also very important to reduce your weight if you have any pre-existing conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or high sugar levels due to being overweight. Other types of health problems due to being overweight include problems with your gallbladder, certain types of cancer, gout, sleep apnea, joint problems and asthma.
Reducing and maintaining a healthy weight requires a change in behavior. By establishing attainable weight reduction goals, the chances of your attaining them are far greater than if you set them too high. Additionally, even reducing your weight by as little as five to 10 percent of your starting weight can greatly increase your health, which is the ultimate goal.
Effective and attainable goals are specific and forgiving. Specific goals are indicated by actions, such as walking 30 minutes a day, not just stating that you will exercise more. Another term is shaping, which is a behavioral technique designed to help you attain success in your goals. Specifically, the principles for shaping are developing consecutive goals to move you ahead in your goals in small steps and then rewards to help you stay motivated.
Finally, if you are over-weight, you need to seriously consider losing that extra weight. You will not know what you are missing until you do. You will feel lighter, more energetic and healthier and you will seriously reduce your risk of various health problems.
By exercising regularly, you will achieve three major goals:
1- you will recuse that extra weight which will reduce your health risks and you will considerably improve your over-all health.
2- You will feel much better in many ways, more energy, less depression, better sex, better sleep and more self-confidence.
Take it seriously before its too late, it will take some time and getting used to but, in the end, if you are serious and under normal circumstances, there is nothing that can stop you from achieving your goal and every pound counts.
