Why is Fresh Air Important?

Whenever You Can, Get Enough Fresh Air

What importance can fresh air play to a person’s health? How can you obtain more fresh air when your job requires you stay indoors for most of the day? These questions and more will be answered as we explore why fresh air is important as well as what you can do to gain more fresh air throughout your day.

Fresh air from outside is brimming with both positively and negatively charged oxygen atoms. The indoor air that we all are used to breathing is recycled air through an air conditioner or heating system, which only contains positively charged ions.

When a person continually breathes the air from indoors they are receiving indoor air pollution. The sources for indoor pollution are the products that your home or office was built with, such as the carpeting, paint, wallpaper, ceiling tiles or numerous other synthetically-produced products that release volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde and benzene which makes the indoor air we breathe must less healthy.

Spending time outdoors, a person is refreshing their cells, which results in lowering the body’s temperature, improving lung functioning and kills bacteria and viruses giving us a better sense of well-being. In essence, when a person spends time outdoors, he/she is receiving high concentrations of negatively charged ions which lifts moods and gives people energy, which translates into better mental clarity. This is particularly important to inspire and rejuvenate your mental processes and recharge your negative ions for mental clarity before you start working on a project or take a test.

The unfortunate reality is that most people spend about 90% of their day indoors where they are breathing the positively charged ions, not receiving fresh air or gaining those much needed negatively charged ions. Nature generates negative ions through tumbling water, such as the ocean or waterfalls, and the electricity generated from thunder and lightning storms.

Do not be paranoid, life comes with all kinds of risks and challenges and nothing is perfect but, we should be informed and naturally, we should try our best to improve our wellbeing as much as possible. Surely it is not the same for everyone, to some it is too complicated to remove themselves from polluted environment but never-the-less, we all need to try our best and there are a few things that can be done to improve the air quality you are breathing.

Stay out of air pollutted areas as much as possible and to avoid chemical based products as much as pssible especially in your bedroom.

Another suggestion, which does not cost any money, is to go outside and spend some time outdoors especially near enough plantation. If you are unable to do that, then open some windows to let the fresh air inside.

Purchase some indoor plants, both for your home and workplace. It has been proven by NASA scientists that houseplants capture the volatile organic chemicals from the air while emitting a good source of oxygen. An indoor water feature will also create negative ions that help to recharge and purify the air.

Fresh, clean air is important to your health. Working inside most of the time we are continually exposed to re-circulated air. Make sure you are taking steps to ingest as much pure fresh air as you can each day to improve your health.
